I recently went away for Davines educators update training and walked away inspired, motivated and excited. Not only excited about the recent launch of our four new haircare products Volu Shampoo, Conditioner and the new Volu (volume) Boosting Moisturizing Mist and our new OI/OIL but I was very excited to learn a new colouring technique called Flamboyage.

Flamboyage is the new modern technique of colouring hair for the modern woman designed by the Davines artistic director Angelo Seminara. It's not like balayage, ombre or highlights. This is an innovative colouring technique that gives the hair depth, natural looking and brighter results without the re-growth effect. Flamboyage enhances natural colours and blends. Perfect for lightening or darkening the hair. I added a YouTube video on Flamboyage which will give you a better idea of the concept and of the technique. The technique is actually done using a tool called Flamboyage Meche paper. There are no foils used. Sounds strange to some but it's amazing and the results are beautiful. It's a new way to experience colour and I am excited to add this service to my list of colour services in the salon in November. Here's some images from my recent day of training at the M. Memento trinkets partie deux

I dug up a few other recent commission pieces that I have been working on for one of my clients and here are some of them. My rad client Mary has given me little mementos that were once her parents and grandparents. Including photographs which I am a huge fan of using vintage photography in my pieces. It has been an ongoing project that I am making custom pieces for her nieces that she is giving as gifts. Some of the more recent trinkets I began to run out of materials that she gave me so I included some of my own found objects such as watch gears, faux pearls, radio resistors and various links all of which are vintage.

I have a client who has commissioned trinkets from me. She has given some of her mothers, fathers, grandfathers and grandmothers jewelry so that I can upcycle and make pieces for her nieces as gifts. I love doing commission pieces especially when it's from a clients personal collection of jewelry. It means more to the client and for the person who will be gifted. Little memories. Here is one of the many pieces that I have done for her recently.

This has been the first time that I have ever used a man tie clip in a piece. I took the engraved tie clip which was engraved with her grandfather initials and used it.

Project Green Thumb..

Testing out my green thumb project has been fun! Whilst I have been spending time hunting for various vintage planters getting creative with the actual planting of them and making use of found objects and "readymades" and using these as planers I have seen some success. With tips and advice from my friend Adriana Martinez of "ANARCHY IN THE GARDEN" my green thumb project is a project of fun. Friends say I have recently become domesticated. I recently received a "domestic" badge from Yelp for all of my "domestic" like check-ins, Home Depot is my friend and The Plant Stand sees a lot of me. Now I am receiving succulents and found items that people think I can use as planters for my project and the we hung a hammock and hung candle holders from the branches of my tree for a "whimsical" feel. YET, I am not tied down though I feel like a little housewife with all of my projects going on.. Lets just say I LOVE HOME.. When, I am home... I am still awaiting that day to lay in my hammock.. Here's a peek into some of the fun stuff that I have been busy doing.

A typical Sunday spent perusing flea markets, thrift shops, swap meets and mid century warehouse shops! Heres a peek into some of my recent finds and scores!! The boyfriend and I have been doing a little redecorating of our places. I've been switching up some pieces and of course I always hunt for trinket making materials for my upcycled vintage jewelry line Le Modern Trinket. I've been in the process of doing a lot of landscaping in the backyard as well as learning how to have a green thumb! Our summer project has been fun!!

I've only seen one other Invader in Los Angeles seen tons in France... Spotted this one driving back from Cinespia last night. We pulled over so that the BF could see it. So while we were walking over we passed by a store on Melrose called Gallery L7. It's a store boasting lighting and furniture and other objects from the 20th century.. While seeing Invader was rad so was the window shopping and gawking in awe of Gallery L7. So many amazing pieces of furniture and objects..

For years I have been rocking my hair straight. Inspired by hairstyles worn by Chantal Goya, Louise Brooks, Anna Karina, Sylvie Varton, Nancy Kwan, France Gall, Mary Quant and more current styles worn by Audrey Tautou and Karen O. These are just to name a few of my inspirations. Heavily influenced by the MOD era and the Ye-ye girls movement of the 60's.

Now, my natural texture is curly (very curly) and in order to have achieve that smooth hairstyle I have done everything from chemical relaxers to monotonous daily flat ironing not to mention the ton of money I was spending on various smoothing silicone based products. Life has been made easier for me in regards to styling with the Brazilian Blowout. Whatever, some stylist like it some don't I am one that DOES like the Brazilian Blowout. It changed my hair smoothed out my curl and tamed that frizz. Thus the horrid daily flat ironing was cut down to perhaps going over sections and not being so hard on my hair with ton of flat ironing or product usage.

While I still admire the MOD hairstyles made popular by Vidal Sassoon I decided to let my hair grow out and embrace my texture. Going curly was a little scary believe it or not for me hence I have been rocking my hair straight for years. This would be a fun experiment to see how my curl would be not to mention I was curious to see my natural curly locks again. The experiment started on our Palm Springs get-a-way to the ACE hotel. Some hours at the pool splashing around and falling in the water playing "monkey in the middle" the curl finally debuted. I was pretty stoked about how I had looser softer curls sans the frizz thanks to the Brazilian Blowout!! Now, I am digging the curl and alas embracing my natural texture!

Recently, many of my clients at the salon have been asking for tips on styling curly hair. There is a trick when it comes to encouraging existing curl. Product is important first of all. I always tell my clients that you need to start with a strong foundation and it all starts with the shampoo and conditioner.

Here are my favs!! I like to stress to my clients the need for a strong foundation so I always start with a shampoo/conditioner geared for the hair type/texture that I am working with. For enhancing existing curl I use Davines Lovely Curl Enhancing Shampoo and Conditioner. I then start with layering products. Here are my go to favorites!

Davines Melu Shield. (thermal protectant)
Davines Defining Creative Moulding Foam.
Davines MOMO/ Serum (curl enhancing) works wonders on taming that frizz!
Davines NO. 5 Mat Pliable Stucco
Davines NO. 14 Sea Salt Primer

I apply these products in this order and remember to comb the hair after applying product to insure even distribution. I like to use a styling comb. I absolutely love using the Davines NO. 14 Sea Salt Primer which gives that loose beachy soft wave/curl look. Perfect for those who are trying to achieve a softer bohemian hairstyle.

Get a diffuser! You can purchase a universal diffuser to fit any hairdryer on line or in a beauty supply store. I like to diffuse the hair about 80% dry then let the hair air dry... NOT touching the curl until it is 100% dry... Check out this great styling tutorial by the Davines visionary artist Naomi Knights on styling curly hair! It's perfect!

With the recent inauguration of the East Village and the expansion of DTSA there will now be a trolley taking people from the Santiago Arts District down to the Artist Village which is a short drive but awesome that there is now this free transportation that will take people down to the artist village which boast AH-mazing restaurants like Memphis, Lola Gaspar, Chapter One The Modern Local, The Crosby and great bars like The Copper Door and Proof and the recent re-opening of The Yost! Trolley runs from 8pm - 12pm..

Art walk starts at 7pm -11pm. Tons of free parking not to mention those gourmet food trucks are always on hand.

Reusing & upcycling found objects!

Still at it.. I found a old bench like seat with a hollowed out center that looks like this may of been used for storage at one point in time. Now, It will be a planter. Having a wood frame covered in leather I had to keep in mind that whatever I plant needs to be able to handle indirect sun. The sun and weather would wear out the leather so I decided to bring some plants inside the home. Once again I hit The Plant Stand to pick up more succulents.

This piece of furniture was missing a top part and the thrift shop was asking originally $99.99?!? Then it was marked down to $75 and then to $65. What harm would it be to ask if they would take it down some more.. So, I asked. Besides I am a frequent customer in here and am pretty cool with the cashier guy here so I got it for $38 and some change! BARGAIN!!

A Sunday well spent... Fresh flowers for the casa and more planting. I am hooked on my latest backyard project! Finding whatever to use as planters! Today was a vintage glass cup a massive cup! I recently went to my favorite plant shop The Plant Stand where I picked up more succulents. One that looks like a little rock. I called him "sponge" Anyhoo.. If you live in Orange County you need to check out The Plant Stand! One time and you're hooked like me!

Lately I have a new obsession.. PLANTING. I recently acquired a bunch of lovely succulents from my dear friends the Kratens. This inspired me to work on my backyard and test out my green thumb. Which sucks and it's hard to keep plants thriving for me but I am still giving it a try. So, I have been hitting places up like Home Depot and my new favorite place The Plant Stand. The Plant Stand has the largest selection of succulents along with other plants, herbs, fertilizers, plant food and pottery and other accessories.

I wanted a different look for the back yard patio area. Something of that of a reclaimed old recycled feel. Obviously exuding the vintage vibe hence I love vintage. I also wanted to recycle old found items. So here is what I did.

By recommendation from my friend Adriana of Anarchy In The Garden I picked up cactus soil. We have been going back and forth with my recent photo post on Instagram about planting. This is one of her areas of expertise. So, when I saw her last Friday I had a slew of questions on how to keep my new project thriving. With many tips ad pointers I was eager to start my project... Here are some of my photo's from a Monday afternoon well spent!

I had these old Buddhas and wanted to use them. Spray painted them in "cinnamon" which they really don't seem like the color cinnamon but I was pretty stocked on the end result.

I started with a vintage wooded planter that I picked up while on holiday in Yosemite. The bf took me to a little town called Oakhurst where we hit up most of the thrift shops which have the best stuff for dirt cheap.

Wanting more of a reclaimed wood feel I pulled out an old drawer I had that came from a vintage sewing machine table. I then drilled some holes in the bottom and then with a hammer make a good size one! of it for drainage and called it a planter!

Another rad find was while we were on holiday in Catalina I came across a plank of old wood. Yes, I brought it back home with me. I wanted to place the planter box that I picked up in Oakhurst on a stand I decided to use some vintage box cameras I have as feet and use the plank of wood as a shelf/stand. Now, I use a watering bucket to water my plants and not a hose so unless it rains I really am not worried about the cameras. I did spray a water repellent on them this morning.

This is the old drawer that I recycled for as a planter! It came out so nice I was pretty shocked.

Here is my finished back yard. It's starting to look pretty back there. I really like the entire re-use, recycle and upcycle idea. So this project was incredibly fun. Love my finished results as do my friends!

I have more things that I want to do like make a table from a reclaimed door and place the vintage orange patio set under a tree in the far corner and place some whimsical like outdoor lighting. Yesterday evening we had a nice little BBQ.. Felt good to sit out back rather than indoors!

For good pointers on gardening check out my friend Adriana of Anarchy In The Garden's website! She also has a Facebook! She even gave me the idea of saving shower water to water the plants! I asked if it's safe and it is completely safe. Normally to get rid of bugs on plants you would use a soap and water mixture so it is perfectly fine. Plus succulents are drought tolerant! Thanks Adriana for all the rad tips!

Downtown Santa Ana keeps getting better! Fashion Bazaar & the East Village Inauguration

I (Le Modern Trinket) am excited to be added on the list of handmade vendors for the upcoming "Fashion Bazaar" presented by the OC Fashion Association on Saturday August 6th in Downtown Santa Ana (artist village) for the inauguration of the East Village. I have seen Santa Ana undergo so many changes in the last 6.5 years that I am so happy to see the expansion and growth of the downtown area. Business's are moving into the area, people are flocking to the area for the awesome restaurants, bars, pubs, galleries, art walk and now with the recent addition of the East Village Lofts people are moving into the area. More exciting is the grand re-opening of the Yost Theater a venue that used to be a music venue then a theater then a church and now back to a music venue. I saw MUM here a little over a year ago!

I remember when this place was a ghost town and now it's a thriving community. I love DTSA and especially love the areas surrounding like French Park and Floral Park. So when I was invited to be part of the event I was more than happy to jump on board and be a vendor. Now, this is not entirely a handmade show. It will also be Art Walk in the artist village and other pop up shops, live music DJ's, food trucks a fashion show.. etc etc.. We will be occupying a vacant space on 4th Street / Bush Street called La Paloma. We will have a pop-up shop featuring local and emerging designers and jewelry designers along with handmade edibles from Three Hearts Bake Shop and fun accessories from Whimsy & Ink

Recent mini holiday trip to Denver, CO. Proved to be a fun trip of amazing food, music, and vintage shopping. Whenever I travel I always make it a point to hit up thrift shops, antique malls and vintage boutiques to look for 1) trinket making materials - 2) clothes and accecories. I came up to Denver to spend it with the BF on his birthday while he and his band was on tour and had a show in the city for a few days for the Underground Music Showcase.

We spent Sunday perusing the city finding great antique shops, malls and vintage clothing shops along with some great boutiques who feature local and non local sellers of the handmade community. One of the shops I came across was Fancy Tiger. The layered dress I wore that day though light in material just was too warm for me that I ended up wearing what I tried on. A cute dress from a local designer and I ended up buying another dress by a local designer who goes by Darling Ruth. I looked online to see if she had an Etsy account but couldn't find her. Her dresses are amazing. Another rad thing was that I saw a local Orange County handmade artist in Fancy Tiger Chantal deFelice. We have vended in the same shows like Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts Fest in the past. It's a small world. Happy to see her stuff in here.

I fell in love with Denver. Especially the Capitol Hill, Washington Park and South Colfax area. I could certainly move here. There is a big handmade community here and so much great music. Home to DeVotchKa! We were shocked at how friendly everyone here was. No fake hipster wanna be cool vibe from anyone. The archetecture here is also something to be seen. But, I do love living near the water. And I am pretty much a California girl though I can see myself living in the Pacific North West. That's what a tanning salon are for.

I fell in love with Fancy Tiger. We almost passed it up but the BF asked me if I would like to go in and check it out. I was on a mission for vintage clothing and trinkets and just left the Boss Unlimited vintage shop and was hoping to find more vintage shops. I ended up buying two dresses (handmade) from local designers in the area. One of which I adore "Darling Ruth" Her handmade dresses are beautiful. The strip here South Broadway) reminds me very much of the Mission District in San Francisco.

I was in heaven.

We had a good time regardless of the heat. We walked over 5 miles Sunday using the Maps feature on the iPhone taking us to places that I bookmarked. We had an awesome brunch at Le Central then strolled through the neighborhoods in Capitol Hill. Found ourselves at the Antique Mall where I picked up materials for making trinkets. We continued on with more shopping right where The UMS was taking place. We were both exhausted from a non stop day that we had to nap before the bf had to leave to play a show for the UMS at Club 404. Though our trip was short and sweet. I got to so some exploring and stoked about that. I have to say however that I really fell in love with Denver. Everyone here was so down to earth and really friendly. Not fake like many are.

SEA NO EVIL ART SHOW 2011 - June 25th!

Today is the SEA NO EVIL ART SHOW. Benefitting the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. There will be over a 100 artist who have donated their work for the show along with a special performance by She Wants Revenge. Show takes place in the Riverside Municipal Auditorium in Riverside Ca.

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is an organization founded by Paul Watson back in 1977. A non-profit international marine wildlife conservation organization that take action against the slaughtering of marine life. If you make it out tonight to the SEA NO EVIL ART SHOW you can listen to Captain Paul Watson as he gets on stage and explains what the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is and his story dating back to when he helped found Green Peace and his reason leaving the Green Peace organization. He will also talk about campaigns. Some of the Sea Shepherd crew will be on site as well. You can watch the Sea Shepherds in action on the Animal Planet channel "Whale Wars"

Upcoming show at Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City is the new works of Scott Radke. Worth checking out if you are in the area on June 18th. More good shows on the same night in Orange County is the recent works of Aaron Kraten at The Box Gallery. The show is called "Aerosols to Airplanes". Next gig for Le Modern Trinket will be a fun one! The new salon that I work at (a rad one) gods & heros salon (near The Camp & The Lab/ Anti-Mall) in Costa Mesa will be turning the parking lot which is massive into a flea market. Le Modern Trinket will be splitting a booth with my dear friend Erin Kraten who not only is a mix media artist but as well as an amazing jewelry designer! The event is the 2nd Petite Flea Market. There will be antique/vintage dealers yielding ladies & gents clothing, accessories, vinyl, little tchotchkes to furniture. In addition to all this I invited a bunch of my friends of the handmade community to join in! There will also be food vendors as well as a live DJ and porta-potties!

With the success of last Sunday's Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts show in Long Beach I have been hitting it hard in the studio making more vintage upcycled trinkets. Current crush is tubes and resistors! Check out the LMT Facebook page for photos of recent pieces along with updates to shows. Come out and peruse the vintage dealers booths as well as the handmade vendors!! Update for the Patchwork Long Beach show.. There has been a road closure due to construction on the 7th St. exit so here are some alternate routes to take for a fuss free way to Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts Festival. Le Modern Trinket will be in booth #129. I will be splitting the 10x10 booth with my friend of Book Lamps by Alanna. Alanna makes rad vintage upcycled swag book lamps! Her stuff is unique and rad.

I finally set up my Square account so I will be able to accept credit card payments at Patchwork now! The first 5 customers will get 15% off their entire purchase!! Le Modern Trinket show at Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts Festival Spring Long Beach show!

It's that time again! Yet another Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts Festival! I love doing the Patchwork Shows and I am excited about showing in Long Beach again. I am also excited to be splitting my 10x10 booth with my friend Alanna Lowe who makes the most amazing swag book lamps from vintage books. Her Etsy handle is BookLampsbyAlanna. I decided not to do the Santa Ana show this season. But, I will be there to support and SHOP! Something I never get to do when I am vending shows. If you have never been to a Patchwork festival and haven't a clue as to what it is in a nutshell it is a event which showcases emerging designers and local crafters. Everything from clothing, home goods, gourmet edibles, handmade jewelry, stationary, art, accessories, clothing for children.. My favorite would be the cute onsies from Random Nicole. The list goes on and this year over 130 vendors will be showing at the Long Beach event!!

I have been expanding out and trying different things. Like upcycled vintage magnets using my new found love for vintage radio parts. Le Modern Trinket & Book Lamps by Alanna will be in booth space #129. Our booth will be closest to the back fence of the area close to Appian Way St.

Le Modern Trinket added yet another show!! A week after I show at Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts Show I will be vending at the 2ND Petite Flea Market in the massive parking lot at Gods & Heros Salon in Costa Mesa... (my new AMAZING place of employment) ... Christine (one of the hairstylist here) has organized the second of the flea markets. Apparently the first one was a hit.. Amongst the vendors who will be selling vintage items such as clothing, accessories and furniture. There will also be vendors of the handmade community.. I'm stoked!! I also have been super busy working away in the studio making ample amounts of trinkets for both shows!!

I have recently found a new fondness for vintage radio parts. As well as making magnets from old vintage items.. Here is a little peek into what I have been busy doing in the studio lately. I am getting ready for the Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts Show as well as recently adding on another show for May 22nd, 2011. The salon that I work at (Gods & Heros) is having a vintage flea market/indie handmade event called 2nd Petite Flea Market. Though I am still settling into the new space I can say that I work with a group of motivated, artistic, go-getter stylist! I am excited about this!! So... Cristiano Cora's "Velocity" collection @The Marconi Museum May, 02 2011

I recently went to a Davines / Bassett Salon Solutions presentation show featuring Cristiano Cora. Former Vidal Sassoon creative director and a current Davines visionary artist who also owns the Cora Salon and the Cora Academy in New York City. Cristiano was presenting his "Velocity" collection which was not only beautiful but motivating to watch but inspiring as well. This is the reason why I love my industry. Hairstylist that are passionate about hair. I also admire it when hairstylist that take geometric shapes and apply it to a material such as hair. I had the opportunity to meet and chat with Cristiano after the show.. He really is an inspiring person!

Cristiano's first model "Angela" was cut on stage and the second model was pre-cut before the show. However he went over the cut and did his finishing work. He also went over all of the other models cuts while the Cora team went over the color placement and formulations using Davines Mask color. Which I learned a new thing that day about toning with Davines L'Art Decolor "Indian Yellow" ... Pre-lightening with the Davines bleaching paste and adding the L'Art Decolor "Indian Yellow" toner. Then going back over after the pre-lightened hair and toning it once again.. The yellow was so vibrant and beautiful! Thank god for the "notes" feature on the iPhone.. I took so many notes on formulations! Excited to use them in the near future! As a hairstylist and working closely with Davines color and products on an everyday basis I find it essential to attend classes. Even if it's my fellow peers who are teaching a Davines Mask Color intro class or a Product Knowledge class. I feel I take away something priceless at each event.

All that I can say is that this show was worth EVERY-thing to attend!

Life is about change and growth.. From relationships to work.. I just had a major change happen in my world and though it was a little scary it is so so nice to know that I will never have to see the DEVIL again! Clients of Shanghai Salon I am no longer there! I am now working at gods&heros salon. My new space is AMAZING and I am excited on this new change! Also excited about working side by side my friend Jennifer Baker who is also no longer at Shanghai Salon!!! We took our own stand and would not allow someone to dictate our education! It's certainly LAME as an employer who claims that "they encourage education and growth" to turn around and give ultimatums about attending a event/class which only will benefit not only the stylist and clients but also in turn the salon. A group of us got together skipped our routine of our Sunday bike ride so that we could make it to the opening to the public exhibit of "Art In The Streets" at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.. CICLAVIA an awesome bike ride!

Yesterday morning a group of us gathered together and rode the CicLAvia ride in LA. There was a 7.5 mile (one way) route that was temporary closed so that runners,walkers, skaters, and cyclist could enjoy a day of taking over the roads without the worry of cars. Riding through DTLA was fun. It was great being amidst all of the beautiful old architecture and a great way of seeing great street art. We spotted some Sheperd Fairy pieces on our ride as well... We started at Orange 20 Bikes at 10am and ended at Hollenbeck Park one way was 7.5 miles and returning back to Orange 20 Bikes was another. Adding the math it was a total of 15. The staff and volunteers were amazing and the LAPD were great at directing the traffic. There were some aread where there was traffic but for the most part it was sans the cars. Here are a few pics from our ride.. Next ride is in June 2011! Can't wait! Through perusing group rides similar to those like Critical Mass that we used to ride I found a monthly Rose Bowl vintage bike ride... This ride is 25 miles which is better!!

We ended our ride at Tomato Pie Pizza Joint in Silver Lake where we consumed back the calories we just burned..

Every Sunday a group of my friends and I all meet up for a bike ride which typically is anywhere from 25-30 miles of a fun ride. No, we don't rock those tight spandex rubbery looking suits or the padded underpants though it would be funny if we all did.. At least for one ride. I was excited when my friend told me about this upcoming ride in L.A called CicLAvia . It is a five hour ride which takes place in LA and the streets are closed. Riding in traffic can sometimes be scary because many motorist don't give two shits about cyclist. So this will be a fun way without worrying about the rude tool who has road rage! Like writers who suffer from "writers block" I have to but that of "trinket block" if that makes any sense. I seem to find myself doing a lot of things lately which has taken time from being in the studio. That all changed last night. I am prepping for some photo shoots that will feature Le Modern Trinket and a couple of shows around the bend. I will also be doing the Art Walk in Pomona in April. The photo shoot that I will be doing this weekend is for a bridal fashion vintage inspired photo shoot. I am using materials such as vintage rosary beads, old photographs of couples and weddings and watches. Here is just some of the stuff I was working on till 2am.

The series that I call "A Love Story' is inspired by the photographs I have collected and what they represent. I am also recreating what I find to be another expression of love. Using vintage heart lockets, hollowed out watches and filling them with photographs and other pieces of materials I come across. More photos to follow.

If you know me then you will also know what a fan I am of Vidal Sassoon's work and of the Bauhaus. With the release of the "Vidal Sassoon The Movie" and of the autobiography on Vidal Sassoon due out in April. It was not much of surprise to see Vidal being featured in the current issue of Archiectural Digest. If you have never read anything on Vidal this is a nice little brief peek into how architecture and the Bauhaus influenced his work.

Vidal truly changed the world of hair. For in his time it was common to go into the salon and get a blowout and some back combing. I loved his comment in this article where he said that he "hated the prettiness that was in fashion at that time". He turned what typical boring hairdressing was into art. With iconic styles like that of Nancy Kwan, Mary Quant, Mia Farrow and Peggy Moffitt and that is just to name a few. I was lucky enough to get a copy of his new autobiography thanks to my friend who was on site for a book signing! She even had it signed to me!!

"Passing Through" .. Tim Rusmisel photographic art exhibit.

With the sad news of my friend Tim Rusmisel closing his gallery in San Juan Capistrano recently there comes good news. Tim will be having a solo show at the 225 Gallery in Laguna Beach on Thursday, March 3rd. Tim is an amazing photographer who will be showcasing his "Shotgun Archives" spanning over the last seven years. A collective of photographs that he shot while on his travels across the country with punk bands. Blurred objects are captured utilizing the flawed objects to create a study of "industrialized landscape". Check out the Facebook event page for more info.

20% of art sales will be donated to the Sea Shepherd Cove Guardians. Cove Guardians are a group of volunteers who are watching over the dolphins in Taiji Japan. This is where the slaughter of dolphins has been taking place for a long time and being overlooked until the recent media attention brought on with the documentary film The Cove. Art for a cause! Tim's show will run until April 4, 2011.

I took some time to decompress after my last show A.C.E. Really haven not been in the studio much. However I am back at it. Here are some recent pics that I picked up and some that I am looking at! I am still pretty intrigued with recycling vintage photo's in my pieces. Perhaps incorporating some in my cufflinks that I will be making...

Art Crawl Experience A.C.E Indie Arts & Crafts Show.

For the last month I have been busy organizing yet another show. The Art Crawl Experience A.C.E. This time it has been on a much larger scale than any of the other shows that I have organized in the past like The Modern Tchotchkes and The Box Shop. Aside of my life which some people think I only make trinkets I do have a job. Divinding my time with my work at the salon and working as an educator on the side for Davines I have been busy in meetings and interviews and handpicking vendors. All along working in my studio. I am pretty excited about my recent pieces and have had some good feedback as well as got some commission work out from these recent pieces.

My recent trinkets have been heavily influenced by French new wave films that I have found myself watching lately. i.e.. Breathless, Band of Outsiders, Jules et Jim and my favorite non French film Harold and Maude. Using old vintage photographs of lovers and weddings and using old heart lockets. I still find myself inspired by the concept and ideals of love. I still find old photographs so interesting and sad. They are like little lost mementos that I am bringing back via the use of old watches...

The OC Weekly sponsored Art Crawl Experience A.C.E. will be featuring an art tour (self guided art tour) The tour starts at one end of the Downtown Anaheim Artist District and ends at The Muzeo. This Saturday is art walk in the Santiago Arts District and the solo show for Cody "Mustachio" Lusby at Curbside Gallery. This will be a soft opening show and the main show will be held on January 23, 2011. Cody's show is called "Modern Romance and the Illusive Dream.. Here is a little synopsis of his recent works and his show. The show will be divided in two rooms of the gallery. The soft opening will be on January 15, 2011 from 7pm-11pm. The main opening will be on January 22, 2011 7pm-11pm

The first room has six paintings illustrating the passionate moment when lips connect and the kiss is made. The intoxicating images are created with a mixture of urban and fine art which is a signature of my style. There will be a make out corner/photo booth and of course pabst blue ribbon.

The second room is based on a dream I had.

I am standing on a small T shaped wooden pier that is connected to the rocky jetty of big corona beach, extending out on the harbor side. The light is so bright it blinds me at fist giving me a moment to breath in the fresh salt air. My arms cross and I let them rest on the railing to hold my weight. I open my eyes and see the water is rushing out to sea in an low tide revealing a clear picture of sea weed and marine life. I let my eyes follow the water out to the horizon, where they spy a black spot moving against the current. It swims into the harbor revealing a sperm whale. It travels along the far jetty and loops around to the other end of the pier I am on. It crushes through the boards and slams right into me. I fly into the air, but land on the few boards left wobbling feebly in front of the whale. It takes me a second to realize my whole body aches. Then it hits me again. As I fly back into the air I hear two words boom in my head "STOP SMOKING" I halt in mid air about 10 feet from the massive beast and begin to sob out apologetic remarks and promises. The whale bursts into a million pieces, the pier reforms and I land gently on it. I am still in pain. The pieces come together revealing a man in a white suit with the an amazing mustache. He looked impeccable and it was not just any mustache, but a flaming red mustache. His mustache was fantastic. He smiled at me and I felt a little warmth. A moment passed of understanding between us. Then he snapped his fingers and a beautiful blond angle of a woman appeared. I went to her and she comforted me. The comfort turned into confidence and I went for a kiss. Then I awoke.

Love & Lament.

Here are some recent trinkets that I have made and sold. I came across a seller who had a dead-stock lot of vintage heart lockets. I have been enthralled lately by the symbolism of love and lament. The ups and downs the highs and lows of what we call "LOVE". Many of my recent trinkets which I have called my "Love Series" have some sort of symbolism or significance of what I feel love is. Using old vintage photographs of couples and weddings from the early 1920s to the mid 1950s. I have in my own way turned these once old lost images of happy times and love into something new. Many of my photo pieces have sold at shows so I am gearing up to hit the studio hard within the next couple of weeks.

My plate is rather full now with an upcoming show that I am not only showing in but also am organizing the indie arts & crafts portion of the "Art Crawl Experience" in the Downtown Anaheim Arts District. I have a few volunteers which will be helpful now..

These two lockets have just been sold and more will follow hence I purchased the dead-stock lot. I used a lot of odds and ends that I have laying around to bring these lockets together.

The gears are symbolic of the complexity of the human heart and not only of its use and function but also on the aspect of relationships. People have used that phrase "my heart aches". I was curious as to if there is such a physical feeling of "heartache"? Sure if your having a heartache, but what exactly is that feeling called that makes one think that they are in "heartache" and listen to sad bastard songs, eat and mope? The gears also represent all of the shit we come by in life where in turn we live and learn...

At yesterday's closing art reception for the Unicornucopia show at Rothick Art Haus I unexpectedly was proposed by the owner and artist Kelly Castillo of Rothick Art Haus with the idea of organizing and being a vendor for the upcoming Art Crawl Experience (A.C.E) in the Downtown Anaheim Arts District. A.C.E is a collective of galleries, artist and the museum in downtown The Muzeo who open the promenade area of downtown on a quarterly basis. It is a wonderful thing when the community gets together to do promote the arts. I am real excited to take part of this event. Mark your calendars though it is a little more than a month away. February 12, 2011 from 6pm till 10pm. More info to follow.

I left the closing reception soon after walking the space where we will be having the indie arts and crafts portion of the Art Crawl Experience with Kelly and my friend Glenn. I came home to only work on creating a vendor event invite page via Facebook, began to email all of my vendor contacts and friends about the event. Thus far I now have a small collective of handmade artist and vintage clothing vendors to participate in the event. I am currently seeking more vendors to participate in our event.

Here is what I am looking for: Stationary, clothing and accessories, plush toys, couture for our four legged friends, housewares, jewelry, artwork, ceramics, photography and gourmet edibles. It's a New Year and people are making those New Year resolutions whereas I haven't. I don't believe in them. I have seen people make outlandish goals. Setting goals and telling everyone about their New Year resolution as so if this would impress people or perhaps just be a verbal confirmation of what they just set out to do. I have heard them all and I have been guilty of making them myself in the past years. I have heard people utter resolutions like...

"shop less"
"drink less alcohol"
"more time with family"
"work out more"
"getting rid of clutter"
"become more organized"
"read more books" etc, etc, etc..

I am not knocking those who have New Year resolutions. I figure why wait for a new year to start changing things. Setting goals just in general is what I like to do. 2010 brought lots of positive things as well as some bumps along the way but c'est la vie. 2010 was a year of change and growth for me. So to start the new year right I was going to do New Years eve right. Though I went to some parties I didn't want to be out and about driving. Feeling beat from a busy holiday season at the salon I wanted to be mellow. This was the first New Years that I rang in pretty much sober with friends and wanting to go home and crawl in bed. We did the champagne toast but I was thinking of SLEEP! I had bigger plans for New Years day.

This year to kick it off on a good note (waking sans a hangover) I organized an "New Year Anti-Hangover" bike ride. Why ring in the new year feeling shitty and sick from a hangover. A group of friends met up for a ride around the Back Bay borderline Costa Mesa and Newport Beach. We actually took a different route which was a little longer but fun to ride down near the UCI campus where we rang in the new year with protein style burgers from In-N-Out. It was my first time ever trying one of those burgers and the first time in a long time that I ate red meat. Total miles rode with the group was 15 I rode a little more after our ride...

I came out to SLC Utah to visit some of my family who moved out to SLC some six years ago or so. Expecting a white Christmas because I was told that it had snowed I was a little bummed that the only snow I saw was the lumps of old snow on the ground aside of the beautiful mountains that were covered with blankets of snow.

Here are just a few pics of my vakay. Some highlights have been being around family meeting new additions to our family and the cold. My brother whom I have not seen in years had a little girl who is now 19 months old. It's rare that girls are born in the Sanchez family for there are more boys than girls. So, it's been so nice to meet little Faith Ann. I want to take her home with me. Spending Christmas with the familia Sanchez and Barranco's means amazing food such as tamales, homemade tortillas, pozole, homemade chili and dancing. I will be updating my blog with more pics as I go of my vakay and I will add more once I return home and plug in my memory card.

Upcycled swag book lamps.

Meet Alanna Lowe, the crafty wizard behind the upcycling of vintage book lamps. I have never seen anything like this before. It's a new take on the swag lamp. Alanna and I met while vending next to each other at the Tim Rusmisel Gallery show in San Juan Capistrano. Not only does she make these rad lamps but she also paints and does photography using 120 film and on the side does hair and makeup for special events. Alanna started making book lamps several years ago just as a way to create something unique and give as gifts to family and friends. Not wanting to give a typical boring run of the mill Christmas gift she landed herself with swag book lamps that everyone loved.

She has an Etsy shop which you can get one now or you can commission a book lamp. Just a little info size does matter. The book cannot be any thinner that 1 inch. The wider the better. If the book is 10-12 inches tall it makes for more beautiful folds hence there is more to work with. I fell in love with her book lamps and have since commisioned one to be made for my new bedroom using old vintage art books and books by my favorite French author Francoise Sagan. Can't wait to replace the vintage swag lamp I have in my room now for one of Alanna's vintage pieces!

Badly Drawn Boy getting pissed.

So, apparently the video I uploaded to Youtube from Thursday nights Badly Drawn Boy show has been picked up and is used in some reviews of the show on the Billboard and LA Weekly website. Honestly, I am a fan of BDB regardless of his freak out. I get it. I actually was annoyed as well by the non stop chatter of the crowd and especially the little lovebirds that were making out while he played.

So, with sound issues Damon Gough was upset. I get it. When something is not working right and you need it to in order to do your job then understandably one would be livid. I would be. People began updating their Facebooks and Tweeting about the show in real time. I felt bad for him yet annoyed that after each song he would complain about the sound and just was in a bad mood. I have been a fan since "The Hour of Bewilderbeast." I've bought ever album vinyl and CD and iTunes.. Im a fan. When he started playing "I saw you walk away" he talked about writing the song when he and his girlfriend were in the shits and about to split. It's obvious he is a gentle compassionate man. I summed it up to being emotional. Fans of BDB were all bummed as was I. We left the show at the start of "Too Many Miracles" from his new album "It's What I'm Thinking". I didn't want to hear anymore of the crowd ranting nor Damon getting upset. Still a rather depressing show.

I get it. We have all had bad days.... I'm still a fan...

My bike is alive!

Been riding my vintage city bike for a while now while my single speed sat torn apart in the garage until recently. My bike has come back to life again. I'm pretty much useless when it comes to putting bikes together so I had my friend Matt pick up my bike and told him what I wanted and here it is! New to my bike is a Brooks Swift seat, front Aerospoke wheel and I switched from having an ebrake to a coaster break. Tested it out this morning. Going on a ride tonight!

Rothick Art Haus has hosted some great shows in the past and this most recent show Unicornucopia curated by Tracey Taylor will nonetheless be as good as a show as all the others in the past. So excited about seeing Liz McGrath and Jeremy Fish. Coming from the Long Beach Craft Mafia will be Crayon Fawn. Always love to see her stuff. The show will feature a group of more than 20 artists and I (Le Modern Trinket) recently swapped out some of my jewelry that I had in the gallery. LMT can be found in the display case!

Opening reception is tonight December 11, 2010 from 7:00-11:00pm

Last night I was one of many handmade vendors in the courtyard of the Tim Rusmisel Gallery in San Juan Capistrano. There was a big holiday event in the downtown area which brought in droves of people. This was my (Le Modern Trinket) first time ever showing in South Orange County. Unexpectant of what the response would be and of the area I was pretty shocked! This downtown area has a very nostalgic feel to it. Very charming and festive during the holiday's and not only that but this historic area exudes an old country vibe. I felt like Huck Finn being amongst these old buildings.

I met Tim last Sunday (11.28.10) while vending at Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts show. He liked display and props and my upcycled vintage jewelry and asked if I would be interested in being a vendor at his galleries upcoming show for the next weekend. Aside of it being cold and my forgetting to wear warmer socks this event was great. I LOVE doing shows. Meeting new clients and vendors is always fun. I was vending next to a girl named Alanna that upcycles vintage books into hanging lamps. It was her first time showing her work so as of now there is nothing to link to.

Tim and I chatted after the event for a bit. Tim is a photographer slash passionate vegan. Note the VEGAN tattoo across his neck. Turns out this gallery is fairly recent. He opened his small gallery in August 2010. This is unlike any other gallery that I have ever been to. It is a rustic little old building that has served as many different types of business in the past. For example it used to be a barn house in the 1800's, jail house in the mid 1840's, a psychiatrist office and the list goes on. Then alas it is now a small gallery featuring both mixed media art and photography. When I met Tim at Patchwork I showed him one of my upcycled tintype photo necklaces I made a while back when we got to talking about photography. He mentioned that he is bringing back the art of tintype photography in which I was excited to see. I took a few pics of his work. He is truly talented. His gallery is the only gallery in the area and with a low budget for marketing he is using resources like Facebook to promote his shows and gallery. Tim and I talked about doing more handmade events in the courtyard pulling in a collective of handmade artisans on the same nights of his art openings which take place monthly.

The best part about this location is the train station. You can literally take the train out and spend an evening in this historic charming area. Tons of great restaurants as well. Like the Ramos House Cafe that apparently has the best brunch ever and the Hummingbird House Cafe and the Hidden House coffee shop. There is also a recently renovated theater in which you can wine and dine as you watch a movie!

More Indie Craft shows for December!

With Christmas just 21 days away and people shopping in crowded malls do the anti-mall thing. If you missed out on the Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts Festival recently there is still a chance to shop for more unique handcrafted gifts. Unique LA will be happening next weekend December 11th & 12th in downtown LA. Then there is Holiday Mart taking place today December 4th &5th in Santa Monica. Check out my friends booth Melissa Loschy Designs. Then there is the holiday event going on in the downtown San Juan Capistrano today Saturday, December 4. I (Le Modern Trinket) added on a show which will be at the Tim Rusmisel Gallery in the courtyard. The gallery will be featuring four local artist and their photography while in the courtyard will feature a group of handmade artisans.

This will be my last show of 2010. There is one possible show in the talks now but as of today this is it! Focus for 2011 is to get more of my trinkets on Etsy. Been doing so many shows and Facebook has been fairly well for me.

Whimsical layering.. I am in love!

Perusing Etsy this morning to look for that little something to go with my holiday getup I came across a sellers shop that goes by JurgitaMi. I wanted to see more of her whimsical pieces that are truly pieces of art! Felt has a place in my heart and when I see anything in clothing or accessories done in felt or the use of felt always gets my attention. Her unique bold statement pieces of overflowing fanciful layers are amazing. It reminds me of waves or clusters of clouds.

I am absolutely in love with her work! Anyone of her shawl like scarf pieces can set any outfit off. A clean simple little black dress would turn into a major statement with one of JurgitaMi's creations. I wish I had of seen her Etsy shop last month. She is in Lithuania so I seriously doubt that I can get the one that I ♥ in time

Calimocho!!

Recently I have been turning friends onto a drink that I have been drinking for a while now called Calimocho or Kalimotxo, Calimotxo or Rioja Libre. Rarely bars ever offer it or even have heard of it. It's more common to see a Calimocho in a Spanish restaurant or lounge. A Calimocho is an equal mixture of Coca-Cola and red wine. I use Diet Coke instead because I am into watching my caloric/sugar intake. Usually when ordering a glass of red wine and a tall glass of Diet Coke then mixing at the bar, table what have you I get the weirdest of looks. People, gasping with a puzzled look on their faces that I totally just mixed wine and coke. After letting my friends sip it they end up loving it!

Calimocho is a drink that originated in Spain and in the Basque region it is known as "Kalimotxo". When I did a little research on the drink I found that many countries around the world have a common drink just different names. In the Czech Republic it is known as "Houba", Chile it is known as "Jote", in Bosnia, Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, and other former Yugoslav republics it is known as "Bambus", Germany it is known as "Korea" The pouring ratio doesn't change much. Some add a twist of lime or blackberry liquor. I got a little fancy recently and mixed in a little Cassis syrup.

Calimocho's are easy to make and are usually received well once people try it. I wouldn't go using a good bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape to make a Calimocho. You can pick up a cheaper bottle like "two buck chuck" from Trader Joe's. But, it has to be a red wine. (not Port)

Things needed.

Tall glass

Ice

One part red wine one part cola stir together and pour over ice.

It's that simple. Remember cheap wine equals a bad headache so don't be too cheap!

Places in Orange County that offer Calimocho's are Habana in Costa Mesa and my favorite spot Lola Gaspar in the Artist Village in Santa Ana

Another similar drink is Tinto de Verano. Another wine based drink that is more like Sangria yet easier to make because there is no need of cutting up fruit and it's less of a mess to deal with! I had my very first Tinto de Verano which means "red wine of the summer"at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs close to a year and a half ago. It is a perfect refreshing cocktail for the summer. I personally reserve the Tinto de Verano's for summer and Calimocho's for the cooler months.. I even like to make the Calimocho's sans the ice!

Preparation for Patchwork..

I'm packed and ready to head out soon for the Santa Ana Patchwork Indie Arts and Crafts Fest today. This will be my third showing with Patchwork. Chances of showers is in the midst which I hope will not scare the perusing crowd off. Last night it began to pour as my friends and I tried to load up my car. That is the bulk of the work is loading and unloading but despite the rain we loaded, got soaked and this morning I am left with some sniffles. The past two weeks have been insanely hectic. I worked not only long hours at the salon but also rushing home to work till the late hours. Some exciting things have come out of all this hard work for me. Like a few offers to do shows in other cities and one to organize a handmade indie show. My website has been launched and the polishing of it is still being done. Then there is the recent interview I had with the OC Art Blog. They came to my house on Thanksgiving eve and did an interview on LMT. They wanted to see what Le Modern Trinket was about, who was behind it and get to know what inspires me. materials used and take a look at my studio.

I can't believe all the trinkets I have made. I've shown a lot in the past and it is always the norm for me to become like a factory and work non-stop, have a pretty non existent social life all though I managed a few times to take a break to meet up for cocktails other than that I become a mad woman in the studio. Last night I felt it. After loading up I returned to working on a few more trinkets. I sat back in my chair in my studio rubbed my eyes took a look around and it hit me. I am exhausted. Prepping for shows is a lot of work. I know this not only of myself but any other crafter, artist who shows. Here is my rant.. Now I must get dressed and meet my friends! Patchwork is today! LMT will be in space #4 near Broadway near the food vending trucks!

I always seem to hibernate and restrict myself of anything other than working at the salon and the running into a restaurant for take-out then rushing home to work more on jewelry and whatever other things I need to get done a few weeks before a big show. The week before a show I am strictly work. This Sunday is the Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts Festival in Santa Ana. (11.28.2010) Last Sunday was the Patchwork in Long Beach which was a chilly and a windy day with forecast of showers. Despite the weather the turn out was great. I went as a patron this time around. Now, with the Patchwork Santa Ana show just around the bend the forecast once again predict rain. Regardless of that this event is a Rain or Shine event.

I will be splitting a 10x10 booth with my friend and co-worker Janae of Love Preslee. We will be in space 4 which will be located near the gourmet food trucks. (off Broadway). I will once again be neighbors with my friend Aileen Holmes. Here is some recent pics of some pieces that I have been busy working on. Lately I have been using a lot of vintage Victorian and skeleton keys and more vintage photos cira late 20's-early 40's in my pieces. Here is just a few that I have done along with some rings that I have started making.

In case you don't have a clue about Patchwork or what sort of vendors will be there here are just a few of my friends who will be vendors. It's not the run of the mill stuff. One could seriously do all of their Christmas shopping at Patchwork. Random Nicole, Kelso Doesnt Dance, Melissa Loschy Designs and J.Holden Designs. Check out their sites. This is just a small example of what sort of crafty people will be at Patchwork!

I will also be doing free fringe trims for the ladies and dudes if you have fringe!

I even turned old concert pins into earrings. Here are some for those who love Elliott.. I don't want to part with these.

Planning for my trip away to the snow I have been perusing online looking for warm jackets. If this is considered warm I shall say fashion before comfort. I will be freezing my ass off if this is what "down" jackets look like.

Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts Long Beach. 11.21.2010

Though there is a forecast of rain for Sunday I will still be out perusing the Long Beach Flea Market then heading on over to the Marine Stadium in Long Beach for the Patchwork Indie Art & Crafts Festival. I (Le Modern Trinket) did not get a booth this time around for the Long Beach show as I did for the summer show. I will be vending at the show following a week after in Santa Ana.

It's perfect timing as well. Christmas is around the bend and you can literally find a gift for everyone here. Everything from unique clothing, home goods, stationary, jewelry, children's clothing and accessories, stuff for the pets, art, accessories the list goes on and on and on.. I am excited to be a shopper this time around. For vending a show makes it a little tough to shop. Just be sure to bring an umbrella. This is a rain or shine event..

Le Modern Trinket has some awesome stuff under way so more news to follow about a possible spring show to come. Come see me at the Patchwork in Santa Ana on Sunday, November 28, 2010 from 11-5. I will be splitting a booth with my fellow stylist and friend Love Preslee. This will be here first time ever showcasing at a craft event and she didn't make the registration deadline so Delilah and Nicole of Patchwork have been nice enough to add her and let her split my 10x10 booth! Love Preslee makes hair accessories. Check it out.. Also we will be doing complementary fringe trims (bang trims) as well.. Booth info to follow!

I also found a rad site that has a list of indie craft shows. Anyone can list an event.. I have already found a few that I plan on going to. So, I added Patchwork! The site is Indie Craft Shows. Shows span all over the Untied States.

LMT canceled Original Art for Holiday's show 11.19.2010

Just a heads up I canceled an upcoming show that I was scheduled to be showcasing my handmade upcycled vintage jewelry along with other mixed media artist scheduled for this Friday, November 19, 2010 called Original Art for Holidays. If you are starting your holiday shopping and wanting to give a gift that is not the typical run of the mill gift then peruse this pop-up gallery show. I'm not a flake and I feel bad that I have pulled out. Thank you Ruth and Warren (owners of Gallery 212 & Studio) for all of the successful shows that I have been part of in your past Gallery shows (Gallery 212 & Studio) They have been most gracious to consider me for shows. Thank you!

Ron English exhibit at Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion.

Met up with my friends last night for the Ron English opening at the Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion located on the Orange Coast College campus. Not many know of this gallery which is unfortunate. I have been here in the past for other shows but this show was hands down the best of the three that I had been to. The show runs through December 17, 2010. If you get a chance it is a must see. Over 100 pieces of his work and one great documentary video covering his work. The Kogi truck was on hand along with the Longboard Ice Cream truck a perk for the hungry. Anyhoo... It's worth a visit! The sculptures of the army men were awesome!

Recent trinkets!

Excited about some new vintage trinkets I have found recently. I have been spending lots of time locked up busy in the studio. Long hours with my iPod and sipping on Calimocho or hot tea have yielded some fruitful trinkets! I'm hell bent on hearts, gears and vintage photo's of weddings and couples. I have dug out some photo's that I have circa late 20's- 50's of weddings. Here is just a few snaps shots of some stuff that I have been busy doing and some of the other things that inspire me.. Such as buttons, gears, springs, movements and photos depicting love.

Shears rings!!! Love Etsy!

I swore that I would never be the typical hairdresser to get a tattoo of shears, razor, blow-dryer or clippers. I love absolutely L-O-V-E my profession and I am passionate about it. But, I can't get down with the getting a shears tatt.. I don't know maybe if it was vintage shears that was not obviously out there as a statement that says "hairdresser" then I would have to think about it.. But, thus far I prefer to cover myself in art and quotes from Neruda and Van Gogh. Recent one being a quote from a letter written by Vincent Van Gogh to his brother Theo. "people are like brushes - the ones that look the best do not work the best"

Point of this entry was to show a rad ring that my fellow craft maker friend Lisa of "Whimsy and Ink" sent me. She saw a ring on Etsy of shears. Knowing I am a hairstylist she thought of me and sent it.. So here I want to share what Lisa found.. It's very similar to what my friend Melissa Loschy made me. I may not rock a "hairstylist" tools as tatts but I will as jewelry!
